Presidential Fredericksburg

Traipse is now in Fredericksburg, Virginia!

Mary Washington House

The home of Mary Washington, George's mother.

From this country's founding to the modern day, Fredericksburg has been an important city for presidents and presidential candidates to campaign in or to visit for business of state. Plus, it's the boyhood home of the United States' first president, George Washington.

We've assembled a tour that takes you to a few locations downtown related to those who served as the Commander-in-Chief, and it is a good overview of Frederickburg's colonial-era history as well.

One of the perks of working at Traipse and creating walking tours is that we get to dive deep into the history of each place we scout. Many of the stops on this Traipse tour offer tours of their own, and we absolutely recommend that you set aside time to take advantage of those. We had so much fun exploring the grounds of each place with local experts leading the way.

Kenmore

Kenmore, built by George Washington's sister, Betty Washington Lewis and her husband. The interior design is STUNNING.

Explore Fredericksburg, learn more about the people who've helped shape this country, and have fun while you're doing it.
